Building on Ethereum with agents
2026-11-03 –, Workshop 1

More builders have started using agents to build apps, but when it comes to building on Ethereum, agents still struggle. We've maintained one of the most popular developer frameworks for building on Ethereum since the pre-agent era, and recently we've been evaluating how agents build on Ethereum. In this talk, we'll share what we learned and how you can start building on Ethereum so your agents do it well.

Builders have started using agents to build apps, but agents haven't been trained on nearly as much code for building on Ethereum as on regular software, so they often make bad decisions, for example, writing something from scratch when a proven standard already exists. And on Ethereum, those mistakes are harder to undo.

We’ve maintained Scaffold-ETH 2, one of the most popular frameworks for building on Ethereum, since before agents, and lately we’ve been evaluating how agents build on Ethereum.

In this talk, we’ll share what we learned and what is working for us.

If you’ve never built on Ethereum or with an agent, you’ll leave with a first step you can try tonight. If you use agents every day, you’ll leave with a few things that help your agents do better when building on Ethereum.
