DeSci Hub - The World of DeSci
2026-11-03 –, Jasmine Stage 4

What happens when we apply decentralization to science? This talk explores the emerging DeSci ecosystem, its experiments across the scientific lifecycle, and the global communities connecting scientific research with Ethereum.

Scientific research depends on funding, collaboration, publishing, data sharing, and trust. But the infrastructure supporting these activities often presents barriers to openness and participation. Decentralized Science (DeSci) explores how blockchain technology, open-source tools, community funding, and alternative coordination models might address some of these challenges.

This talk introduces the DeSci Community Hub and examines the potential touchpoints of the ecosystem- from research funding and intellectual property to open data and peer review. Tracing The World of DeSci from Bangkok (2024) through Buenos Aires (2025) to Mumbai (2026), it shares how regional communities are forming and connecting across borders. It also highlights India's emerging DeSci community and the importance of connecting scientific expertise with Ethereum's builder ecosystem.

Arya Agarwaal is a biochemical engineer by training, a science communicator by passion, and a DeSci community builder by conviction. Her research journey has taken her from India to Sweden and Switzerland. She is fascinated by the ways science can be made more open, collaborative, and accessible; not just through technology, but through the stories we tell and the communities we build. Through science communication and her association with DeSci India, she hopes to bring researchers, technologists, and curious minds together to rethink how science is funded, shared, and experienced.
