DESCRIPTION:8004 is an Ethereum standard for recording the identity\, reput
ation and validation of AI agents. Using 8004scan’s index of 1.56 millio
n agents on 27 mainnets\, we examine what these registries reveal about ag
ent activity. Registration counts proved volatile. Feedback per agent on E
thereum and its L2s fell from 2.00 to 0.64 in five days as registrations o
n Base rose sharply. We argue that agent metrics are comparable only when
each states its numerator\, denominator and observation date.
