What Can We Actually Verify? AI and Ethereum Security
2026-11-05 –, Lightning Stage

What does it mean to call a smart contract secure, and what evidence should back that claim? Subodh Sharma joins a conversation on what verification can establish, where AI can help, and what still needs human judgement. Drawing on his research, we’ll also discuss security across interconnected Ethereum applications and how public verifiability can coexist with privacy.

Subodh Sharma’s research spans formal verification, software security, and privacy, with applications ranging from smart contracts to electronic voting. He develops methods and tools to check whether software behaves as intended. He is also the founder and principal architect of Cerify, a smart contract security company, and previously worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Oxford.
