Fast Confirmation Rule: 13 second cofirmations
2026-11-04 –, Lotus Stage 1

The Fast Confirmation Rule allows L2s, bridges, and exchanges to process Ethereum deposits from within 12-24 seconds, down from up to 13 minutes today. Learn about how the rule works and how to deploy it in production.

Ethereum users often wait minutes for deposits and cross-chain transfers even when full economic finality is not required. The Fast Confirmation Rule (FCR) offers a new point in the latency–security trade-off space: deterministic confirmation in roughly one slot under clear network and adversarial assumptions. This talk explains what those guarantees mean in practice, where FCR can safely reduce waiting times, and where applications should still wait for finality. Attendees will leave with a clear understanding of when FCR can improve user experience without hiding the underlying security assumptions.
