Dirk Jäckel
Dirk is a Berlin-based Android developer who has been building apps since 2009 and following Ethereum since 2015. From 2020 to 2023 he was a mobile developer at Gnosis and Safe, working on the Safe{Wallet} mobile apps. He is the creator and maintainer of Myotis, an open-source light client that gives mobile and desktop apps trustless access to Ethereum without relying on RPC providers.

This talk shows how a light client embedded in an Android app removes that intermediary today, fetching data over p2p and verifying it on-device, and where the approach still falls short: log queries and access to historical data.
