Checkpoint-synced beacon nodes lack historical light client data, and supply decays as the network grows. This talk covers designing and implementing a fork-less backfill protocol in Prysm that lets any node trustlessly reconstruct old-period LC updates and bootstraps by downloading per-period proofs and locally re-running the spec's is_better_update ranking.
